2020 / 2021 Darien KnockOuts Training:

The priority of the Darien KnockOuts organization is to provide training and developmental opportunities to each rostered player. During the offseason teams at all levels will be following a set of fundamental drills to set a minimum baseline for each player.

Individual training plans will be set for each team and may vary based on the team level and ability/skill of the team. Teams must have the ability to catch, throw, hit, and run the bases with fundamental excellence before additional complex drills can be taught.

Each section in the "Practice Field" menu contains  drills for throwing, fielding, hitting and baserunning. In addition, there are documents which provide the responsibilities of each position. It is important for your daughter to know and understand her responsibilities for the position she most wants to play.

You must be a current rostered player or coach with a valid password to access the specific training plans and videos

Since this is a volunteer league and the coaches are not professionals, we do not know everything there is to know about the sport. As you can imagine, there are thousands of videos about softball techniques and drills and we try to ensure we are selecting ones from reputable sources. As you review the videos, you will notice many drills are with Mike Candrea who has coached the University of Arizona softball team since 1986 and was also the coach of the Women’s USA Olympic Softball Team.

If you have better videos or additional drills that would benefit the teams, please reach out to dycsoftballcommisioner@gmail.com
